I liked the overall story and reading this book was entertaining. It was humorous and delightful. I was saddened by one of the events involving Beth in the book and wished it would not have taken place...I had an inclination to wish other events to have taken place with Laurie and Jo but I feel that situation actually ended rather well. All in all, very good book.

If you've never read this classic, you're missing out. So many rich characters and valuable life lessons! The story of the March family, told in personal, often hilarious anecdotes, is a beautiful ode to sisterhood, young love, and the joys and sorrows of life itself.

I'd read the children's abbreviated version of this wonderful story and have seen the movie but neither did justice to this wonderful work that is perhaps more illuminating to the little lessons in life now as an adult then it ever was as a child.
