Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll
29 Installments

A lazy afternoon by the water becomes a wild adventure when Alice chases a mysterious white rabbit through his hole and into another world. Carroll's signature masterpiece is filled with brilliant nonsense and unforgettable characters that grow progressively "curiouser and curiouser” as the plot unfolds. A dazzling romp for young and old alike.

This book showed me that curiosities are worth chasing after, for better or for worse.

Different than the Disney cartoon, but not that different. I enjoyed it.

I love this book. I love the humour and imagination. I always read it with such delights from the first time I read it when I was little and every other time I've re-read it.

It's like one of those dreams that you have.. when the scenes change so quick you don't really know what's going on. But you're so curious and you keep following it... and eventually you even try to continue the dream for as long as you can. Just to see what happens next.

The book always brings back the child in me and it makes me happy.

I had read Alice in Wonderland many times, but it was not until I had fully matured that I actually understood it. Always thought Alice was on a bad acid trip; only to discover she had been dreaming under a tree. Too funny.

Hearing so much about this story I had some great expectations about it. In my opinion the book did not to turn out to be so great. But I cannot say that the writer has no fantasy.

I found this book very hard to reread as an adult. If it were written today the author would surely be accused of using drugs as they wrote it. It's more than a bit schizophrenic.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I never read it as a child, only saw the Disney cartoon. I thought it was a bit strange, but it should be. I mean we were in Alice's dream. I look forward to reading the other tales that follow this book.

This book really sparks the imagination and I really enjoyed meeting all the different characters through Alice's wanderings but I was glad that the book came in small pieces - not sure I could handle much more Carroll at a time.

This is one of the basic books in the Western canon simply because it works on so many different levels for BOTH of our cultures, Art and Science. Nary an educated person in our society can avoid the literary charm and Latin humor of Alice's adventures nor miss the fabulous mathematical twists and turns.

To be culturally literate, you need to read at least some of the works by Lewis Carroll.

I am biased...this is not my first time reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I will say it was my guy's first time reading Alice and he adored it. Also this was a great way to read said text and discuss it. So recommended!

This version has no pictures. ("and what is the use of a book without pictures...") Carroll wanted the pictures & story to combine. Since 1907 hundreds of illustrated versions have re-created this story. To say nothing of film, TV and animation. one of the latest is Alicewinks with 12 early 20c. illustrators and animation based on them.
