I really didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped to. I found the main character (Henry) to be one of the most irritating characters I have ever come across in literature. To call him melodramatic is the understatement of the century. I also found the other characters to be extremely flat and uninteresting.

this book is really good one, gripping and the way they have broke it into parts is really good....

...But this might not be his best work. It's enjoyable enough though

I liked this book and I thought that it was interesting, however, it dragged during thr boring parts making them even more unenjoyable and the exiting parts went by too quickly. When trouble arose and the suspension built, the characters' problems were solved within a page or two.

I had worried that the book would be filled with excess description, just to make the image very clear. I was happy to find that Jules Verne managed to make it clear what happened while leaving much of it to my imagination. Definitely worth reading if you want adventure or a trip without the booking fees.

A few others have mentioned what I went through as well. After a rather rapid start there were some very slow parts. Not to mention the entire premise is no longer possible given what science now knows. Simply put this story shows it's age. It's still a fun a read just not as fun as it was when first written.

The old books of this type all have a very similar ending. Even though this one's happier than most it's not very different otherwise.

I haven't read this book in nearly 25 years, but it was just as awesome a read this time as the last!
