Question of the Week - Question of the Week #50: Characters for Kids
Ooooh... for me, it has to be three characters, all of which are still favourites today. First would be Tilly Beany, whose book 'Tilly Beany Saves the World' (by Annie Dalton) is still my favourite book today. It contained so many of the elements I adored: dolphins, magic, dreams coming true - and children kicking butt and saving the day! I was Tilly's age (6) when I read it and I've loved it ever since.
Second is Peter Pan. What a brilliant, classic children's creation. Again with Peter Pan there was magic, flight, fairies and the power of childhood, and I fell in love with the wonder of Neverland and have read, seen or heard just about every adaptation, sequel and prequel I've come across.
Third is Pippi Longstocking. I loved how she was so independent and always did her own thing, free without any adults to encumber her. My dream was to have red hair in pigtails, and freckles, like her!
