More Than Daily...

Although I realize that this website is "DailyLit" I think it would be a nice touch if people could sign up to receive installments more than once a day, say once at midnight and another time at noon?

  • Thanks for the suggestion. This is actually already on our list of features to add!

  • Great. I'm looking forward to the addition of that feature, then.

  • I found that at the bottom of each installment there was a question whether I wanted to receive another installment right now all I had to do was "click here" and another installment was immediately sent. What I ended up doing as I got further into each book was to click the sentence, it would tell me an installment was sent, I minimized that page, clicked again, etc., until I had enough installments to keep me happily reading without interruption for some time. My question is why can't we download a book in it's entirety if we choose?

  • The idea behind DailyLit is to serve up books in bite-sized pieces. If you'd rather have the full text of a book, you might check into other formats; for instance, the full text of many classic books is available for download on a number of websites.

You can also increase the length of your installments by clicking on the "manage" link at the bottom of any installment. On your settings page, click on the "more" link next to the book you're reading. There you can set installment length to "longer" (2x the length of a normal installment) or "longest" (4x as long).

  • The bite sized chunks idea is great, but i think the true idea of that "get the next installment now" idea is so that if you get really into a book, like i definitely have on this website, you don't have to wait to see what's going to happen.

now if only we can get the same feature for Lost...

  • Yup.. I think the 'get the next installment now' link has covered up the problem.. Or we can always ask for the next installment from the 'manage your subscription' part...

I guess that's the main idea of DailyLit..to get something to read..little by little..part by part..everyday..

I feel lucky someone is kind enough to show me this, and subscribed me something..
