I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice and enjoying it immensely. I have just finished watching the 2005 movie version. I have a question. Does the book tell us what Mr Darcy's firest name is? I have not come across it as yet and am very curious.

Darcy's first name is Fitzwilliam just like his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam. Hope that helps.

I love Darcy. He's everything you want in a man--too bad he's fictional!

Edward is one of the leading men in Sense & Sensibility. I think Darcy's first name is Fitzwilliam or something rather odd like that . . . maybe Fritzwilliam? Sorry I wasn't more help!

It's Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, Edward Ferrars is from Sense and Sensibility, and Edmund Bertram is from Mansfield Park (I'm reading this one now). Happy Reading!!

Wow, this is one book I can't read. I tried the first chapter. I didn't think it'd be a problem for someone who's read War and Peace and Moby Dick! Gosipping, man-catching, love-making, oh disgusting! And the men are wusses, with nothing better to do than sit around and entertain or be entertained. Mr. Darcy has a bad attitude problem. Oh well, guess I'm just not the right type.

I'm normally a book lover compared to the movie, but for some reason I actually liked the movie almost as much.
