Made off with money

3 out of 5

Doesn't he look like a guy you just wanna punch in the face? I'm pretty sure Larry King would.

  • Not really; What Madoff was doing with his Ponzi scheme is being done by Blue Chip compnies in a more disguised manner. Madoff came out and accepted his fault. The Blue chip companies don't even know that they are doing the same thing:
    1) When they offer dividends instead of repairing the Assets of the company, it is like saying, I have your Capital safe and look I am paying you the dividends. Madoff was doing the same thing except that his game became crystal clear due to its transparent nature! You and I are joining bigger criminals than Madoff by pointing our finger at him alone.

  • Are you defending the guy who caused suicides and distress by pure Fraud?

  • You are right, Madoff's fraud did lead to 2 or 3 suicides and probably 6 attempted suicides. This confirms that there are many more and bigger hidden Madoffs in the US. There were 800000 suicides in the US in 2008. Which means that there were 400000 Madoffs. However, in reality, there were probably much less number. If there were only 100000 who triggered thise suicides, it's clear that they were each at least 4 times bigger culprits.

I hold Charities, who invested in Madoff’s funds or in any other speculative funds or stock markets more responsible for fraud than Madoff himself. He did lie to his friends but from a legal point of view, all such investors had signed a document that said they were fully aware that they could lose it all!
