The Way of the World
English polite society of the eighteenth century is viewed in its many hypocrisies and idiosyncracies. William Congreve portrays life as it was then and is still is today, which is why the play remains relevant where the complexities of human nature are ever in question.

Comedy of Manners
I read this intersting and bit complicated play last year in my Literature class. This play is Congreve's masterpiece. It is best example of Comedy of Manners. It reflects the age in which it was written. All the characters belong to higher social class. It consist of sexual relations, marriages, jealousies and many other controversies.
In short , i really enjoyed while reading this amusing play.
