About the Author

Educated and trained in her craft largely within her family home, Jane Austen (1775-1817) developed a singularly sharp eye and keen wit for chronicling the lives, loves, and misadventures of the English gentry. Witty, if outdated

I think this is a very enjoyable, lively, well-written book. However, i can't give it 5 stars because some of it is so outdated to our times that it seems frustrating.

its good...but not that good!

i have read a lot of great books.... and this is just something i had to finish because when i start something, even how boring it is...i have to finish...so i did....

Could not stop reading!

I don't remember reading this when I was younger and was curious about it. It was a wonderful book and I didn't want to stop reading it!

Intelligently Done, A Pleasure to Read

Jane Austen's books always are a pleasure to read. All her trademarks are here: an extremely well-thought plot, an extremely colorful cast of characters, and commentary on society--ranging from subtle wit to blunt judgment. It's important to realize that this is not your everyday love story. Though many have attempted to mirror or modernize the story of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, you have to remember that Austen did it first. Worth all the hype it gets and then some, but to truly do Pride and Prejudice justice, you have to read the book.

Loved it!

I really liked the characters - Eliizabeth's wittiness was refreshing, and Darcy's mysterious character intruiging. Though I sometimes wanted to slap Darcy, it was an amazing read.
